This is what it looked like packed up, it was slam full top to bottom, side to side, front to back. It was right to the seatbacks... Sunset just past Tok, AK where you turn SW for the first time after heading NE out of Anchorage. We're within a couple hours of the US-Canadian border here. At the border just after midnight or so the first night. We NEVER thought we'd get that far that soon. At Whitehorse, YT. The filth is kind of impressive considering that we were technically on-road the whole time.
At the start of the AK Highway in Dawson Creek, BC. Cool double rainbows we saw not too far past Dawson Creek while driving through intermittent rain. Sweet sunset shot outside Stan Cronin's incredible garage in Helena, MT. Our one major problem was fixed there, check the Montana page for those juicy bits. We just had to pull over for this sunset in Wyoming. Overall we were incredibly lucky with the weather on the trek home.
Devil's Tower National Monument in Wyoming. This was the start of two easy days where we did all of our real sightseeing. Badlands National Park in SD. We camped there for the night, took it easy, made a huge dinner and watched a great sunset. I spent most of the sunset taking film shots, but I managed this one with the digital before it got really incredible. The Crazy Horse monument... I can't wait to see that finished. I hope it's in my lifetime, that thing is HUGE!
